The Welshman Ian Simmonds has for the foreseeable future pitched his tent on the Isle, post his few years in Thuringia, Germany. Almost two of those years were spent on the Castle Wendelstein where the splendid album "The Burgenland Dubs" was brought to light. He is of course ever close to the Music Krause clan and rightfully so, when there are two sonic rockets at the ready to be blasted into space of the the auditory world. Quite simply, no one sounds like him! This captivating passion with a penchant for percussive rhythm in connection with a powerfully meditative character is one of a kind. In spite of a multiplicity of tones, melody fragments and rhythmic finery that is so densely packed, the tracks manage an unbelievably well-organized deepness. This comes across so, that the muscle fibers crave vibration. That his sound is such as if crafted by a live jazz quintet in the context of the club is a credit to his talent. For the new Musik Krause he has put a considerable fire under the adrenalin of sensuality so that the cinematic played before the mind's eye brings both friends and free-spirited dancers to the same place. That which marked the typical Simmonds sound up to now gets from Ian a considerable punch from way way down. The club equipment and party-ers will be thrilled – and thats a promise! A Call this Evolution Tweety birds, a constant jazzy bass, all sorts of cling-clangs, congs, pengs and biffs start a minute in. These are carried from from what we know of Ians taste, everything but a tentative bass drum...the decent to taste hi-hat at 4:30 takes care of the rest. Ultimately you can pose a definitive...YES, or?! Never before has Ian Simmonds been so suited to the club. Damn thats some good stuff! B The Comeback There it is again, the yearning of the endless Simmonds expanse. A true epic he has produced in which the force of physical ecstasy doesn’t lie nor be denied. The courage for the floor is brought back and it happens so inconspicuous and has such an opulent nature. Again, damn fine music.
