This new live project on Flyin´ High Records is in fact the core rhythm-section of Scallymatic Orchestra (FHR001), looking for future sounds. Next to Mathijs Duringhof [Moto] (programming/guitar) there is Joep Beving on keys, Daan van West playing drums and triggering samples and Martijn Meeske on both upright and electric bass. Rha Goddess is a familiar face in New York City's underground hip-hop and poetry community. She has shared the stage with such luminaries as The Last Poets, Jessica Care Moore and Saul Williams as well as KRS-One, and Chuck D. Rha Goddess released a solo album, ‘Soulah Vibe’ on Devine Dime, and has toured throughout the United States and Europe. ‘Extra Mile’ is an uplifting broken song with a melancholic edge. The perfect club tune for the end of the summer, leading in the autumn leaves. With great deep soulful vocals by New York based singer Rha Goddess, analog synths, live drums and bass in combination with programmed beats, bleeps and effects, all culminating in the Rhodes solo towards the end, Moody Allen takes you the extra mile for sure. Liege, Belgium based producer David Borsu turns the track into a stab-based, minimal, deep, hypnotic and pulsating offbeat housebanger with a dirty Rhodes-groove. A future bound club smasher if ever there was one!
