From
Brooklyn via Tokyo, this is Takuya's soulful atmospherics. He's been
performing with trumpet, keyboards and various other gear for many years
with artists like George Russell's Living Time Orchestra, Arto Lindsay,
Vernon Reid, Jojo Mayer, Organic Groove, Bob Moses and many others.
This live
feel has been combined with samples and warped into something fresh
and new. Hip Hop beats and jazz drum breaks collide with moody pieces
and interwining emotions, sending the listener to a place he hasn't
been to before. The busy snares, delayed wah-wah guitar riffs and heavy
sub-bass of "Three Fans" kick the release off. After the deep,
21st century downtempo groove of the title track, the mood mellows out
with the dubby vibes of "Opa", which features Patrick Goraguer
on drums. Finishing off the release are the beautiful melodies of "Yosek",
featuring Zeke Zima on guitar.
